Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure

Why do we have disclosure?

Application formTo ensure that Liverpool Direct Limited make safe appointments to all posts involving working with children or vulnerable adults.

There are two types of Disclosure:

What do I need to do if the post is subject to Disclosure?

You must disclose all 'spent' and 'unspent' convictions and cautions on the application form under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

When I apply for a post how will I know?

The person specification and job description for the post will inform you.

What happens if I get an interview?

We will send you a Disclosure application form which you must complete and take to your interview. You will be asked to bring specific evidence of your identity as well.

If you are successful we will process your Disclosure application and pay the charge to the CRB. Your documents will be checked and returned to you at once.

If you are unsuccessful your Disclosure application and all supporting documents will be destroyed.

We have provided Applicants' Guidance Notes for Completing a Disclosure. They explain which documents we can accept and advice on how to complete the form.

Important information

Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working for us. This will depend on the nature of the conviction and the circumstances and background of your offences.

We have produced a Recruitment of Ex-Offenders statement (MS Word [29.5Kb]. Will open a new browser window.) for applicants and managers. We ensure all those who are involved in the recruitment process have had relevant guidance and training in this legislation.

Further information, Applicant's Guidance and the Code of Practice are available on the CRB website.
