Liverpool Direct Limited leads the way in pledging to recruit up to 10 new apprentices
Date: 21/10/2009
Liverpool Direct Limited has pledged to recruit up to ten apprentices as a result of the Daily Post and National Apprenticeship Service campaign. Warren Bradley Leader of the Council and Board Director of Liverpool Direct Limited seized on the opportunity after learning that Merseyside employers are being urged to take on apprentices.
Mr Bradley said: “The Council along with its Partners is dedicated to supporting young people in the area and the Apprenticeship initiative is the perfect opportunity for us to be able to recruit people while expanding our own workforce. We have successfully recruited apprentices in the past and would like to continue this through the Daily Post and National Apprenticeship Service campaign.”
Liverpool Direct Limited is a joint partnership between Liverpool City Council and BT which currently employs over 1100 people. The organisation has built a significant reputation in the industry for leading, innovating and delivering service excellence. There are a number of apprentices from various schemes who are now working successfully across different areas of the business. Following this success Liverpool Direct Limited are committing to expanding their workforce of apprentices.
Warren Bradley added: “We are looking to recruit around ten apprentices in a number of roles including in the contact centre and administration services. Apprentices learn the culture of the company from the outset and help to grow the business which in turn helps to improve the city economy. The benefits of Apprenticeships are second to none – companies and organisations benefit from enthusiastic and motivated employees which contributes to the efficient running of Liverpool Direct Limited.”
